Mary Bangs

Mary Ella Bangs peacefully passed away Sunday, September 24, 2023, at Highgate Senior Living in Yakima, WA. She was born to Henry and Mary Ann Roth on February 11, 1942, in Toppenish. She graduated from Toppenish High School in 1960. The following year she married John Bangs on June 10, 1961. Mary Ella was a loved and respected wife, mother, grandmother and aunt. She worked at Central Valley Bank in Toppenish until her retirement in 2002. Mary and John were able to experience many enjoyable summers at Cascade Peaks Family Campground near Packwood, WA, winters back at home in Toppenish, and Septembers crabbing on the docks in Westport, WA. She enjoyed time with her family, Summer golf cart rides to the Cowlitz River, and loving her grandson Zac. Mary Ella is survived by her daughter Alisa Clark of Hillsboro, OR, her husband Geoff, their five children, James, Alex, Justin, Jordan and Sarah; and her son Michael, wife Lisa, and grandson, Zachary, of Toppenish. Mary Ella was preceded in death by her husband, John, her parents, and her siblings Sally and Jim. Viewing will be held on Friday, September 29th at 11am with funeral services to follow at 1pm, both at Valley Hills Funeral Home in Zillah, WA. Graveside service will be held at the Zillah Cemetery. Reception following internment has been planned at Sheridan Winery in Zillah, WA from 3-6pm.
