Marvin Kinter

Marvin (Marv) M. Kinter, age 76, of Toppenish, passed away on Tuesday of June 5th, 2013 at Cottage in the Meadow in Yakima, WA. Marvin was born on December 20th, 1936 in Yakima, WA to Harold and June (Pangborn) Kinter. He was raised and attended schools near White Swan, WA. Marvin was a ranch hand for George Jensen, who he fondly called “POP” in Toppenish on the Jensen Ranch, where he hung around with the Broderson boys. On July 29th, 1958, he married the love of his life, Carol Huylar. Together they raised their two children, George and Penny, where they lived most of their life in the Toppenish Area. Marvin continued working in the cattle business for Frank Gamble and also enjoyed baling hops with Buster for the Sauve and Desserault families. Marvin’s in-laws, Clyde and Katy Huylar, gave him the opportunity to become a rancher himself, and work along-side Clyde, doing what he loves. Marvin and Carol owned Kinter’s Roping Arena that many friends came out to enjoy team roping and had a great time. They could also be found at the Carruth Bowling Lanes where they competed on a few different leagues with Bud and June. Marvin is survived by his son George of Toppenish, daughter Penny of Zillah. Six Grandchildren, Tessa and Caralee of Zillah, Patty of Parker, Matt of Yakima, Luke of San Diego, CA, and Skye of Toppenish. Brother in-law Glen of Zillah. Five great grandchildren, Brother Lenard, and Sisters Pat and Jean. Marvin was preceded in death by his wife Carol, Parents, Father & Mother In-laws, Brother Harold, Sister Anna, and Three Infant Granddaughters. At Marvin’s request there will be no services. In lieu of flowers or memorial, please do something for your loved ones to make them smile in his memory. Valley Hills Funeral Home in Zillah is in care of the arrangements.
