Mark E. Robert, 68, of Naches, passed away on April 26, 2013 at Yakima Regional Hospital. He was born on July 26, 1944 to Adolf and Lucile (Shelby) Robert in Grandview, WA.
Mark attended Naches High School. He married Shirley Wayman on August 15, 1964. Mark was a man who thoroughly enjoyed all the friends he made over his lifetime. He was a life-long orchardist in the Gleed community. Mark was also an entrepreneur and dabbled in a variety of businesses. He co-owned several companies including Orchard Rite Inc, Dive-In Scuba Shop, Apple Country B&B, and Robert Orchards Fruit Stand. Mark also worked as the Superintendent and Manager of Gleed Canal Company. He served the community as a Volunteer Fire Fighter for 33 years and a Fire Commissioner for 12 years. Mark had a true wealth of friends and appreciated them greatly. His passion was his family and his grandchildren were a real joy in his life. Mark was a true neighbor and his instincts drove him to help those who were in need. He especially enjoyed traveling, hunting, fishing, skiing, scuba, racquetball, and woodworking.
Mark is survived by his wife of 48 years, Shirley Robert of Naches; mother, Lucile Robert of Yakima; son, Marcus (Amy) Robert of Naches; daughters, Marcella McGee of Washougal and Meagan Robert of Naches; brother, Rod (Diane) Robert of Yakima; grandchildren, Logan Robert, Olivia Robert, Geer McGee, Paris Khan, Maya Vora, Elise Robert, Marceil Robert, and Genevieve Robert; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Adolf Robert.
Private graveside services will be held at Terrace Heights Memorial Park. Memorial services will be held on Friday, May 3rd at 12:00 p.m. at Memorial Bible Church in Yakima. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Naches FFA. Online condolences can be made at www.valleyhillsfh.com.
