Mark Allen was born in 1964, on Valentine’s Day, in Yakima, Washington to Robert and Joyce Allen. He was the second born of three children. Mark was born with an infectious smile and playful personality.
Due to his needs, for the last fifty years, Mark called Yakima Valley School his home. Mark loved slapstick humor. He had a best friend in which to share his sense of humor. Often they would both laugh if a caregiver would pretend to fall, actually trip, or accidently drop something. One caregiver likened this friendship to the comedian dynamic duo Laurel and Hardy. The two were quick to work off each other’s laughing and sense of humor. Mark loved watching his football on T.V. with his peers, and just being in the company of others. Mark especially enjoyed giving caregivers a hard time in good fun. Mark would pretend to cry and laugh at caregiver’s reactions to his antics.
Sadly, the time has come to say goodbye to Mark, his wonderful smile, and his special sense of humor. Friends and family remember Mark always and carry his smile in their hearts. Mark touched all that had the honor to know him. He is survived by his parents Robert and Joyce Allen, sister and brother in law Jacqueline and Dave Henden, brother James Allen, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins, and last but not least his roommate David.
A Celebration of Mark’s Life will be held at Yakima Valley School on December 12th, 2017 at 2:00 p.m, in the Deccio room, on the 4th floor of the main building at 609 Speyer’s Road in Selah, WA.
