Marilyn Ann Stuber, 82, of Union Gap, quietly passed away in her home on May 11, 2013 surrounded by her loving family after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. Marilyn was a loving daughter of Desmond and Gilberta Long, born on October 28, 1930 and raised in Walla Walla, WA. Marilyn met Dan Stuber in Walla Walla, WA while he was in the Veteran’s Hospital. They were married on January 21, 1950 in the VA Hospital Chapel. They moved to Yakima, WA in 1953 where she transferred from Walla Walla to Yakima while working for Pacific Northwest Bell. Marilyn performed many duties at her job and was blessed with early retirement in 1982 after 33 years of service to spend as much time as possible with her family and friends. Marilyn and Dan spent a wonderful 63 years together and she was a loving mother to three sons; Donald, Russell and Kevin. Marilyn was wonderfully talented and creative. She enjoyed sewing, weaving, quilting, knitting, and making dolls for family and friends. She won many awards for her work and a few of her dolls are displayed at the Yakima Valley Museum. Marilyn is survived by her loving husband Daniel of 63 years, sons Donald F. Stuber and wife Shannon of Moses Lake, WA; Russell D. Stuber of Burien, WA and Kevin D. Stuber and wife Debby of Clear Lake, WA, as well as five granddaughters, and one great grandson. A graveside service will be held on May 16th at 1:00 PM at the Reservation Cemetery on West Wapato Road. The family wishes to give many thanks to Danielle, Karen G. and Ellen R. of Regional Hospice who took wonderful care of Marilyn for the past few months.
