Marilyn “Lea” Driskill
Lea Driskill, age 71, died peacefully at her home on May 14, 2018, in Union Gap. Lea was born Marilyn Lea, but everyone knew her as “Lea”. She was born November 17, 1946, in Hood River, OR, to Bill and Beulah Sampson.
Lea graduated college in Portland, Oregon with a Business degree. She married Bill Driskill in 1976; they were married 42 wonderful years. They lived a very active lifestyle together; fishing, hunting, swimming, snowmobiling, huckleberry picking, and hiking all over the Northwest, while taking their dogs with them everywhere. They even roofed houses together.
Sewing was a hobby of hers and she made money sewing uniforms for local restaurants and high school cheerleading teams.
Lea & Bill dedicated 16 years as volunteers working with Camp Prime Time for ill and terminal children.
She served 10 years at Broadway Fire Department as the Secretary and Treasurer.
She served eight years on the City of Union Gap’s City Council as Secretary, while working a full time job for 37 Years as the Legal Secretary for attorneys Walters, Whitaker, Finney, Falk, Lawrence Berry, and Naught.
Lea is preceded in death by her parents and grandson, Kyle.
She is survived by her husband, Bill; two sons: Tom Anderson (wife Juli) and Chad Anderson (wife Mindy); stepchildren Danny Driskill, Jan Buckley, and Robby Driskill; and eight grandchildren: Rochelle, Thomas, Megan, William, Joseph, Amber, AJ, and Shelly.
