Marie Ravine

Marie leona Ravine, age 92, passed away in Yakima on April 1, 2017. She was born in Pierre, SD on August 12, 1924 to Gottlieb and Christina Winckler, the fifth of eight children. The family settled in the Central Washington area during the Depression. She had a happy childhood during those simpler times. She was a lifelong member of Grace Lutheran Church in Zillah, WA. She married James B. Ravine, Sr. on July 29, 1946 in Yakima, WA. She and Jim had three children, seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She is survived by her brother, Leonard Winckler of Zillah, WA; daughter, Sharon(Larry) Sprague of Morton, WA; sons, James(Carol) Ravine Jr., and Ken(Sandi) Ravine both of Zillah, WA; grandchildren, Todd(Dawn) Sprague of Tenino, WA, Brenda Sprague of Centralia, WA, Jennifer Ravine of Celina, Ohio, Rebecca(Steve) Singleterry of Arlington, WA, Jason(Jessie) Blankenship of Raleigh, NC, Jarod(Amber) Blankenship of Mt. Vernon, WA, and Stephanie(Jack) Wells of Monument, CO; great-grandchildren, Matt, Dustin, Leona, Peyton, Byron, Logan, Presley, Sydney, Jacob, Ryder and Zoey; also many nieces and nephews. Marie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three brothers, Oscar Winckler and Reinhold Winckler of Zillah, WA and Harold Winckler of Benton City, WA; three sisters, Elsie Dewald of Granger, WA, Emma Moser of Modesto, CA and Katherine Kunnanz of Yakima, WA. Mom was blessed with many talents such as her oil painting and wood-working projects and she kept busy with different jobs and the large flower garden she greatly enjoyed. She traveled as much as she was able and enjoyed life to the fullest. She treasured her family and will be deeply missed by us all.
