Marian “Billie” Hilton nee Conry was born May 3, 1936 and died October 18, 2016. Billie was born on the family farm in Woodbury County, Iowa to Floyd and Murl (Thompson) Conry. She was the middle child between two brothers Blaine and Allen. She attended high school in Sunnyside, WA graduating in 1954. In 1957 she married Mike Hilton and they had three boys, James in 1958, David in 1959, and Robert in 1966. Billie attended Central Washington State University and graduated with a BA in Education in 1966 . She then attended Heritage University and graduated with her Master’s in Education in 1993. After 35 years of teaching she retired and continued her community service by volunteering at the library and serving on the Advisory Board for 15 years. She also volunteered with the National Kidney Foundation and Valley Hospice, often sitting with the people at the end of their lives. She was a leader in the Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority for teachers by being the treasurer and the past president. She helped decide who received the scholarship on a year to year basis. Billie was a large part of her children and grandchildren’s lives. Often times she was the designated baby sitter for weeks for her grandchildren, traveling all over the world for them. She enjoyed doing things with her kids and wanted to be involved in all their adventures at risk to her own self at times! Billie was also a very active member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Sunnyside and Christ Lutheran Church in Yakima. She served on the church council for many years. She is preceded in death by her father in 1965, her mother in 1989, brother Blaine in 1991, brother Allen in 1999, and grandson Christopher also in 1999. She leaves behind her three sons; James(Kathy), David, and Robert (Elizabeth), 8 grnadchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Per Billies request there will be no visitation. Graveside Services will be held 10:00 AM Saturday, October 29, 2016 at West Hills Memorial Park in Yakima. A Memorial Service will be held 12:00 noon at Our Saviors Lutheran Church on Saturday, October 29, 2016.
