Maria Garcia

Maria Mendoza Garcia, age 69, passed away August 8, 2013 at her home peacefully in Sunnyside, Washington after a long courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Maria was born July 22, 1944, in Michoacan Mexico. Maria was a selfless and caring person who enjoyed gardening, cooking, sewing and spending time with her family. She was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church. Maria will be missed dearly and will live forever in hearts. She is survived by her husband of 53 years Luis E. Garcia of Sunnyside; Nine children, Rosa Garcia of Sunnyside, Ramon Garcia of Sunnyside, Olivia Lepez of Sunnyside, Gerardo Garcia of Phoenix, Maricela Alvarez of Yakima, Jose Garcia of Sunnyside, Luis A. Garica of Sunnyside, David Garcia of Las Vegas, Maria D. Garcia of Sunnyside; 21 Grandchildren; 11 Great-Grandchildren. Special thanks for the special care given by our beloved Aunt Mercedes Mendoza and daughter Maria D. Garcia. Also, the Hospice Care nurses Karen and Robin. Viewing and visitation will be held Monday, August 12, 2013 at 1 to 8:00 p.m., with recitation of the rosary at 7 p.m. at Valley Hills Funeral Home in Sunnyside. Mass of special Catholic burial will be held on Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish Catholic church.
