Obituary

With profound sorrow and endless love, our family announces the passing of our beloved mother, Maria “Coca” Chacon, age 61, of Naches, WA. Coca left this world on Saturday, January 17, 2026, surrounded by the unwavering devotion of her husband of 44 years, Andres “Chino” Chacon, her daughters Yesenia Mora and Andrea Chacon, her cherished mother, siblings, and extended family.

Born on June 19, 1964, in Jalisco, Mexico, Coca was the fourth of eleven children to Jacinto and Consuelo Cuevas. From an early age, she stepped into the role of caretaker, becoming a guiding light and mother figure to her siblings. She sacrificed her own dreams and aspirations so others could flourish, giving her life to love, service, and family.

She lived with purpose and joy, finding her greatest fulfillment in the love she shared with her husband, the pride she held as a mother to Yessi and Andrea, and the delight of being a grandmother to Chloe and Kamila Mora.

Her granddaughters were her heart’s greatest joy. They gave her life, and she cherished every moment spent with them—cheering at sports games, attending school events, taking them shopping each weekend, and creating memories during their treasured sleepovers. She shared a deep and special bond with Chloe and Kamila, nurturing them with the same devotion she gave her own daughters.

Her special companion Milo, the family dog. Who was a loyal friend who stayed by her side through every season of life. He was not just a pet, he was another child.

Coca loved her Starbucks runs, shopping trips, and spending time with her family. Her faith, her warmth, and her radiant spirit will remain forever in our hearts. Her enduring faith and light continue to guide us.

After the passing of her father, Coca took on the role of caregiver for her mother while still working full-time and caring for her own family. Many of her siblings and their spouses looked to her as a second mother. She was the one they called, the one they trusted, the one who always showed up. Her role as the family’s anchor was a testament to her strength and generosity.

She is survived by her husband Chino, daughters Andrea Chacon and Yessi Mora, granddaughters Chloe and Kamila Mora, her mother Consuelo Cuevas, and her siblings Bertha Reyna, Rosendo Cuevas, Miguel Cuevas, Andres Cuevas, Mariana Vergara, Leticia Ditter, Nasario Cuevas, Ramon Cuevas, and Rafael Cuevas. She was preceded in death by her father Jacinto Cuevas and her beloved sister Teresa Cuevas.

Our family extends our deepest gratitude to the medical teams who cared for Coca with such tenderness and dedication during her journey: Prosser Hospital, Dr. William Cox, Dr. Mannem, Spokane Hospital, and the ICU staff at Memorial Hospital. Your compassion and support brought comfort during our most difficult days. The care she received will never be forgotten.

We also wish to thank Price Cold Storage, where Coca worked since 1997. She took immense pride in her role as floor manager and held deep affection for her coworkers and the company. It was more than a workplace—it was her second family, and she cherished every moment spent there. Her years at Price Cold Storage were a meaningful part of her life. Coca’s legacy lives on in the love she gave, the lives she touched, and the strength she showed. She will be missed beyond measure and remembered with endless love. Always and forever.
