In Loving Memory of Maria Salud Cervantes
March 21, 1946 – September 12, 2026
With profound sadness and hearts full of love, we announce the passing of our beloved Maria Salud Cervantes, who peacefully left this world on September 12, 2026, at the age of 80.
Maria was born on March 21, 1946, in Cuerámaro, Guanajuato, Mexico, to Teodoro Campos and Francisca Gallardo. It was there that her story began—a life that would be filled with family, love, hard work, faith, and countless treasured memories.
Maria met her husband, Bernardo, and together they built a beautiful life and family. They were blessed with four children: Jose Antonio, Maria Elena, Delia, and Maria Magdalena. Her family was the center of her world and one of her greatest joys.
Maria was a woman of deep Christian faith, and her relationship with God was an important part of who she was. For more than 60 years, she faithfully devoted herself to her church and her Christian faith. Her faith guided her throughout her life, giving her strength, hope, and comfort through both joyful and difficult times. She lived her faith not only through her devotion to the church, but also through the love, kindness, and care she showed to her family and those around her.
Maria had a special gift for creating beauty with her hands. She loved spending time in her garden, lovingly caring for her plants and flowers. She also had a passion for sewing and knitting, creating things with the same patience, care, and love that she gave to her family.
Above everything else, Maria treasured her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. To them, she was lovingly known as “Mami Chalo.” Being their Mami Chalo brought her tremendous happiness, and the love she had for them could be seen in everything she did. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren will carry with them countless memories of her love, warmth, faith, and presence.
Maria was the heart of her family. The life she created, the faith she lived, and the love she gave will continue through her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all those whose lives she touched.
Maria was preceded in death by her parents, Teodoro Campos and Francisca Gallardo, as well as her beloved siblings. Her family finds comfort in their Christian faith and in the hope that she has been welcomed into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior and reunited with the loved ones who went before her.
While our hearts ache at having to say goodbye, we are grateful for the 80 years of life she was given and for every moment we were blessed to share with her. We will remember her when we see flowers blooming in a garden, when we hold something lovingly handmade, when our family gathers together, and in all the small moments that remind us of home.
Her hands may now be at rest, but the love, faith, and memories they created will remain with us forever.
Maria Salud Cervantes—our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and our precious Mami Chalo—will be deeply missed, forever remembered, and eternally loved.
