Toppenish-Margarita Villanueva, 89, long life resident Toppenish resident, went to be in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ on Monday, August 5, 2024. Margarita was born on June 11, 1935, in Salinas, California, to Domingo Lara Franco and Cruz Beltran Franco. Margarita was the daughter of Migrant Field Workers and moved around the states with her mother and father and siblings working in such states as California, Oregon, Montana, Nebraska, Texas and settling with her family in Washington State, where she resided with her family. She met her husband Baltazar Villanueva, in Washington state, and married him on November 24, 1956. Margarita had seven children. Margarita, worked seasonally alongside her beloved husband in various orchards in the Yakima Valley. Off season she was a devoted housewife and a mother to her children. Margarita was a very nurturing mother who believed in love and unity in the family. She always demonstrated her love by example. She was very generous and kind to others.Margarita, loved cooking, sewing, and knitting. She was very creative and had a natural tact at making everything better. Margarita, also worked as a Child Care Cook for Sunshine Daycare in Toppenish, until she retired. Margarita, was a strong, loving, beautiful and wonderful homemaker to her husband and children. She was dearly loved by her family, and admired by her children who know her as being the Best Mother and Friend in the World. Margarita, was a Christian Woman who always lived and demonstrated her faith in God. She also volunteered in her younger years as a Ladies Group President for the Pentecostal Holiness Church, and Cooked and Baked for many Church rallies and functions. Margarita, last attended church at Centro Cristiano De Alabanza in Toppenish under the Pastorship of Juan E. and Ma. Elena Lopez, Ministries and briefly under the Pastorship of Jesus and Ester Arredondo, Ministries at Toppenish WA, until she was no longer mobile enough to attend church in person. This did not stop Margarita from serving her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. At home she read her bible, listened to Christian Music, and listened to preachings over the radio station (Estacion de la Familia), joined in church services over television, and continued praying and praising the Lord! Margarita was a prayer warrior. God used Margarita, to be an intercessor in prayer. When she prayed the Lord was always faithful and prayers were answered. Margarita was a Wonderful Wife and Beautiful Mother to her children. Margarita loved her family and was always willing to lend a gentle helping hand. Margarita is survived by her six children, Baltazar A. Villanueva, Gaspar J. Villanueva, of Toppenish WA, Margaret R. Rivas (Adolfo) of Yakima, WA, Melchior Villanueva (Angelita) of Yakima WA, Juanita M. Osborne, of Richland, WA, Elizabeth Villanueva of Toppenish, WA, her eldest sister Maria Magdalena (Mary) Reyes, Vancouver, WA and her younger Brother Manuel Franco, of Toppenish, WA. Margarita, is also survived by her five grandchildren and five adopted grandchildren and lots of nieces and nephews. Her youngest daughter, Ruth Villanueva, father, Domingo Lara Franco, and mother Cruz Beltran Franco, brothers Domingo Franco Jr., Francisco Franco, Jose Refugio Franco, John M. Franco and sisters Herlinda Franco, Rosa M. Ramirez, and Cruzita Franco, preceded her in death. Viewing will be Friday, August, 9th at 9:30am, with a 10:00 am Christian Funeral Service to follow at the Zillah Valley Hills Funeral Home, located at 607 2nd Ave. Zillah, WA 98953 .. Margarita, will be laid to rest at the Elmwood Cemetery, at Toppensih, WA. Zillah Valley Hills Funeral Home is handling all of the Funeral arrangements.
