Margaret Rivard

Margaret Mae Rivard, 84, of Yakima went to be with her beloved husband of 55 years, Lloyd E. Rivard, on August 14, 2016. She passed at The Cottage in the Meadow surrounded by family and friends. She is survived by two sons: Terry Rivard (Cindy) of Yakima and Pete Rivard of Puyallup; three daughters: Fran Henle of Yakima, Carla Lafferty (Brent) of Yakima, Maudie Goettsch (Dennis) of Selah; six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Margaret was born in Goldendale to Frank Polley and Ila Irene Greenfield on May 15, 1932. She was a long-standing member of the F.O.E. where she met Lloyd. She worked for the Yakima School District for 30 years and then retired. She loved family and friends, dancing and golf. She will be greatly missed by all. Memorial gifts can be made in Margaret’s honor to Cottage in the Meadow. Viewing will be held on Thursday, August 18, 2016 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Valley Hills Funeral Home (2600 Business Lane, Yakima). Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, August 19, 2016 at 10:00 am at St. Paul Cathedral. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
