Margaret R. Morris, 85 of Grandview went to be with the Lord on May 15, 2018. She passed away at home peacefully with friends and family present. She had a strong will to live and faith in God that carried her through her battle with Mesothelioma. She was born in Mabton, Washington on October 11, 1932 to Edward and Ora Paulson, and she lived in Grandview her entire life, where she attended Belma and Grandview schools. She married the love of her life John E. Morris, on November 13, 1949, and they spent over 60 years together.
Margaret enjoyed being active and involved with her three children: Lynda Morris (Russ) Phillips, John E “Butch” Morris Jr, and Kevin Morris. Growing up the family enjoyed many weekends at Goose Prairie, but the Oregon Coast was one of her favorites.
One of Margaret’s greatest sources of pride were her 9 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. They enjoyed taking the kids to Disneyland (Margaret’s second favorite place). The kid’s all have fond memories of grandma’s house, and many family vacations.
After John’s retirement from Hanford they purchased an RV and became Snow Birds for over 20 years - enjoying golfing, biking, square dancing, and visits with the grandkids. Later on they purchased a mobile home in Grandview and enjoyed a quieter life with family. Margaret liked to travel, and she took several trips with her daughter. Thanks to much prayer, in March, Margaret was able to make one last trip to Lancaster PA with her Pastor and some friend’s and family.
She is preceded in death by her husband, John, her son John JR, and a grandson Jimmy Walsh, her 3 sisters, 3 brothers and her parents.
Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, June 2nd at 2:00 p.m. at Anchor Point Baptist Church in Grandview, Washington. In lieu of flowers, Margaret asked that donations be made to her church, Anchor Point Baptist Church 609 W. Bonneview Rd, Grandview, WA or Heartlinks Hospice Care, 3820 Outlook Road, Sunnyside, WA.
