Lyman Jefferson

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our loved one Lyman Jefferson Sr. Lyman was born January 3, 1954 and passed in Yakima Washington on October 24, 2023. Lyman was one of 10 children born to the late Gaylord/ Eda (cheda) Jefferson. Lyman was preceded in death by one sister and two brothers. Lorraine Marceau, Marvin Thompson, and Lyndon Jefferson. Lyman is survived by 6 siblings: Dona/ Ray Cloud, Maria Lefthand, Gaylord, Marlene Jefferson, Letitia Jefferson, Elizabeth Jefferson and Valarie/ Gary Lincoln. Lyman is also survived by Lisa Jefferson and 7 sons, Michael Jefferson. Lyman Jefferson Jr. Gabriel Jefferson, Daniel Jefferson, Douglas Jefferson, Franklin Jefferson, and Patrick Jefferson. Lyman is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and grandchildren. Lyman grew up in the Yakima Valley but also spent a lot of time along the Columbia River. Lyman also attended Job Corp in Ronan Montana. Lyman worked as a Laborer, car mechanic, and fisherman. Lyman enjoyed hunting, fishing, spending time gambling with family and friends, and taking care of his grandchildren. Lyman's dressing services will be held Friday, October 27th at the Toppenish Creek Longhouse at 1 pm, followed by overnight services starting at 7 pm. Burial will be held at the Toppenish Creek Cemetery the following morning, Saturday October 28th at Sunrise.
