Lyle Ray Cook (1941-2025)
Lyle Ray Cook, aged 84 passed away peacefully on August 29, 2025, surrounded by his family in Yakima, Washington.
Ray was a cook in the U.S. Army for 3 years and was. Honorably discharged in 1946. He started his own business in 1985 called Walkway Rentals, which was featured in the “It's your business” section of the local paper. After retiring, he volunteered at the Yakima Greenway and the Harmen Center. He received an award of excellence from the Yakima County Senior Nutrition program for his work in the Harmen Dining room. Later he dedicated his time to the Central Washington Agricultural Museum, leading tours, organizing the exhibits and driving the welcome wagon.
In his free time he enjoyed working in his yard, helping family, friends, neighbors, and bowling on the local league. Ray is survived by his children, grandchildren, great grand children and a nephew and niece. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, and sister.
A small service be held on September 19th at 11:00 am at Valley Hills Funeral In lieu of flowers, the family requests. Donations be made to the Central Washington Agricultural museum.
