Louise M. (Cyr) Sisk, age 87, passed away May 5, 2019. She, “Beb”, was born to A. E. and Josephine (Payment) Cyr at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Yakima.
Louise was a housewife, “managing” her home and children. She and John Higdon met on New Year’s Eve on a double date heading to Playland in Selah to dance. Louise was very involved in the Terrace Heights Civic Center with Jack. Many days, months, years were spent repairing, soliciting donations and saving the building that was close to demolition due to a serious structure problem. The old school bell was brought down from the rooftop and repaired. It is displayed at the entrance now with a dedication plaque to Jack Sisk. The building, which was once, a one-room school house that he had attended for a time. The building has had many uses and contains the library.
Once retired, Louise and Jack were able to travel with their fifth wheel to many locations with their Alpenlite Club. They met wonderful life long friends.
Louise is preceded in death by her husbands John Higdon and Jack Sisk. Her parents A. E. “Ed” Cyr and Josephine; brothers Fred Cyr and Earl Cyr; sisters, Violet Hecox and Lorraine Morgan. She is survived by her brother Walter “Sonny” Cyr (Ruth) and sister-in-law June Bates. Also surviving her are her children: Lynn Krogman, Scott Higdon (Dixie), Gail Rivard (Jim) and John S. Higdon; grandchildren: James Rivard (Megan), Jennifer Christensen (Michael), Mitchell Higdon, Darby Higdon, Abby Jones (John) and Aimee Higdon; great grandchildren: “Ranger” Rivard, Elon Vienne Rivard, Natalie Christensen, Nathan Christensen, and Olivia Jones; and many nieces and nephews.
Many, many Thank You’s go out to all that helped Mom. Especially Tami Alexieff and Tanyia Logan, Shirley Fairbanks.
Mom was easily loved by many, Complete strangers instantly made friends with her. She, however, was the “General” to us kids. And the “boss” to her husbands. Thank you Mom, we love you and will always miss you!
