Louis "Lou" Ellis Leiferman, 63, of Yakima, Washington, passed away on February 18, 2024, to join Our Heavenly Father, and His beloved Grace V. Nelson and several family members - all waiting to welcome him home.
Lou, as he was affectionately known, was born on October 26, 1960, to Ronald and Stacie Leiferman in Yakima, Washington.
He enjoyed helping others, at age 10 he started reading and collecting comic books, assembling model cars and trucks, he loved working on cars with his brother Kevin, watching NASCAR, and calling his sister Nancy when something exciting happened. Louis was a good guy. He loved to be called for help if you needed a handyman, he enjoyed coloring, and hanging out with his great nieces Sophia and Grace and great nephews Isaac (little buddy) and Danny.
He will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by his siblings: Mary (Paul) Budge, Melissa (Rick) Hayes, Kevin (Rolonda) Widenmeyer, Effie Lyons, Nancy Waddell, Andrew Leiferman, Ron Leiferman Jr., George Munn, Allen Munn, Patty Munn and Billy Lee and numerous nieces and nephews.
Heartfelt gratitude from the out-of-town families goes to Mary, Chris, Brenda and Lisa Budge for the loving care of Louis. We love you!
Lou's family appreciates the love and support of Cottage in the Meadows and their hospice team, largely Yuli Guzman, and Chaplain Bill, Rochelle Sitton, at Developmental Disabilities in Moses Lake and, Rosslyn Bethmann at Family Mentor Project for encouraging and comforting Lou and his sister, Mary during this emotional and difficult time.
The friendship of Collin and Bea was a bright spot in his day, we appreciate you!
The family would like to thank all the staff at Crescent Healthcare for all their amazing love and support to Lou and his family. We couldn't have made it without you!
A private family event will be held to honor him.
