Loren Donald Raymond went home to be with the Lord on February 11, 2025. He died at his home and was surrounded by his loved ones.
Loren was born on November 18th, 1934, in Delta, Colorado to Sanford and Ethel Raymond. He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother (Warren Raymond) his two sisters (Flave Lint) and (Leeta Chastain.)
The family moved to Toppenish and lived on a farm. He had a lot of chores, enjoyed playing, swimming in the nearby river, hunting, fishing and whatever kids enjoy doing. He stayed in touch with many of his childhood friends and would meet up for coffee and play his guitars at his friends’ homes. He enjoyed music and went to Toppenish Schools.
Loren and Warren went off to San Diego for Navy bootcamp and headed out on the Destroyer Escort (The USS Currier.) They went to various stops before reaching the waters of the Korean War.
Loren journeyed off to California and worked as a mechanic. He was married and had three children Holly, Shaonda and Tammy. After a time, his marriage ended.
Loren returned to the Yakima Valley in Washington. Started his new life back with family and friends. Loren met Carol and dated and fell in love and got married and adopted Darla Jean. Loren worked hard at getting his own business (Raymonds Painting.) He loved being in the painting business.
Loren enjoyed going to church and attending SD. A bible studies. He often attended church and camp meetings. His mother influenced in him God’s Love and Trust.
Loren enjoyed all family activities, going to the beach, camping, hiking, ice skating. He was good at just about everything. Loren was known for sharing jokes. Loren was known for being a very kind man. He always was helping others.
His life at the Golden Villa Mobile Court was a good time, for he had neighborhood buddies. Loren loved caring for our family dog (Coconut) they would always cuddle up and ate meals together. They spoiled each other. Loren looked forward to seeing his grandkids and his great grandkids.
Loren and Carol moved to Selah to be close by his youngest daughter and family, just a few houses away. He was very thankful that he had a new home. He was able to have his 90th birthday at his home with family, also a wedding anniversary party.
Loren will be missed by many! Love.
A celebration of Life will be held on August 9, 2025, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Kameo Events 29 North 1st Ave., Yakima, WA.
