Loren Morrow

January 24, 1925 — March 28, 2014

Loren Morrow passed away on Friday, March 28, 2014 after 69 years with physical and breathing problems. He had to retire at the young age of 35 years after suffering back trouble while working at the Brick Yard and Western Farmers in Granger. The enjoyment he got out of his long life included visiting with friends, his farm and farming, raising cattle, hunting and playing pool for fun. He and his wife Corrine took care of 169 foster children. His greatest enjoyment was fishing with his brothers and sons and his best friend of 50-plus years, Boyd Brown of the Nile. He grew up in the Outlook and Granger areas after his family moved there from Tennessee. He later moved to an apartment in Zillah for a number of years before moving to the Peach Tree Retirement Home in Yakima for five years. He will be missed by his many friends and relatives. He is survived by his children Lorna Wambah of Zillah, Alvin (Karen) of Toppenish, Ray (Phyllis) of Prosser, and Ken and Corrine of Portland, OR, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Three of his siblings of 14 remain living, Bill (Aldeen) of Zillah, Hazel Atkinson of Moses Lake, and Dazie Davis of Portland. Loren had one grandchild, Kimberly Morrow, precede him in death.
