Lois Rabie

March 18, 1924 — April 29, 2018

Lois Thelma Rabie passed away April 29, 2018 in her home in Zillah, surrounded by family and her beloved poodle, Papillon. Lois was born March 18, 1924 in Darby, Montana as the only child to Lula and Orville Ward. Her family moved to Yakima to pick fruit, and she went to Prosser High School, Hillsboro High School, and Yakima High School (now Davis). After graduation, she worked as a secretary at a hop brokerage in Yakima, where she met hop farmer Elmer Alvey Rabie. Lois and Elmer were married November 30, 1945. They had four children, and the family eventually settled on a ranch in Zillah, growing corn, sugar beets, apples, pears, and other crops. They built a house overlooking the river when Elmer retired, and enjoyed time with friends, family, and grandchildren. Lois is preceded in death by her husband Elmer, her son Doug Rabie, her son-in-law Paul Davis, and her great-granddaughter Josephine Rabie. She leaves behind her son Ron Rabie (Patti), her daughters Betty Jo Davis and Mary Jane Bault (Roger). She had nine beloved grandchildren: Jennifer Rabie Johnson, Jacqueline Jacobs, Aleia Beaty, Ivy Rabie, Greg Davis, Chad Davis, Molly Jo Bault, Jody Bault Adams, and Max Bault, and many more dear great-grandchildren. Lois lived a full and vibrant life, with many pursuits, interests, and friends. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
