Lloyd Callihan

April 1, 1953 — October 21, 2017

On Saturday, October 21, 2017 our beloved husband, father, grandfather, son and friend, Lloyd Oren Callihan unexpectedly passed away at his home in Wapato. Lloyd was born on April 1, 1953 and attended White Swan High School, where he met and married the love of his life, Deborah Norman. They were married March 15, 1975 and together had two children, John and Sarah, who they raised on their family farm. He was an amazing person who dedicated his life to helping others and serving his community. He was a volunteer fire fighter with Brownstown for 43 years where he became fire chief, and just recently retired. He was also an EMT for 38 years and taught EMS classes and loved it. At the time of his death he oversaw the school bus transportation department for the White Swan School District. He worked for many years for the Mt. Adams district in various positions as well as driving bus. He loved his job dearly and he truly cared for the kids he hauled every day. Above all he was a loving husband for 42 years to his wonderful wife Debbie, and father and grandfather of his five grandchildren who were his entire world. Family was the most important to him and he was always there whenever needed. He was especially happy being around his grandchildren Connor and Colin, who brought so much happiness to his life. He loved taking them on motorcycle rides and rides on the train. He also loved to get pictures and videos of his newest grandson Nathan who will be a year old next month. He was so proud of his son John and man/father he has become to his sons Connor and Colin. He loved is daughter Sarah and son-in-law Jeff dearly; he was looking forward to going to Spring Training for baseball with Jeff next year. He loved every Sunday having breakfast with his parents. He and Debbie loved to get away as often as they could with trips together on his motorcycle. He was not only a great husband, father and grandfather, but an amazing uncle who loved all his nieces and nephews. He loved to tease them and would be at every event he could to support them. He loved farming and his cows, regardless of how many choice of profanities he shouted towards them from time to time, he would never change it for the world. He will be missed by many remembered by all. He is survived by his loving wife Debbie Callihan, son John Callihan and girlfriend Crystal, daughter Sarah Rock and husband Jeff, mother and father Oren and Lorayne Callihan, sister Colleen Foreman and family, mother- and father-in-law Wayne and Lusetta Norman, grandkids Connor, Colin, Cassie Witt and husband Cameron, Cameron Manjarrez and fiance Chelsey and great granddaughter Audrey Witt, and numerous nieces and nephews whom he loved and cherished and many sisters- and brothers-in-law.
