Lloyd Bruhn, a long-time resident of Granger and Zillah, Washington, passed away on Thursday, August 31, 2023, at the age of 93, surrounded by his family. Lloyd was born in Marion, North Dakota on April 20, 1930, to Lottie and Edward Bruhn. His early years were spent farming with his dad and brothers, also helping neighbors. On August 4, 1950, he married the love of his life, Phyllis Larson in Fargo, North Dakota. The couple started their lives together in Oakes, North Dakota, and later moved to Jamestown where he started his long-time love of truck driving. Lloyd and Phyllis had 9 children, 5 girls and 4 boys. Lloyd was a devoted husband and father. In 1966, they moved to Granger, Washington and ultimately settled on their farm near Outlook, WA. Lloyd worked for a short time at the Sugar Beet Factory and then Seneca before returning to his love of truck driving, for Independent Foods. In 2005 they sold the farm and relocated to Zillah, where they resided until moving to Hawthorne Court in Kennewick earlier this year. Lloyd and Phyllis enjoyed dancing, camper club and spending time with their family and wide circle of friends. Lloyd is preceded in death by his mother, Lottie, his father, Edward, 6 brothers, Mel (Doris), Lyle (Carol and Kathy), Earl (Mary), Merlyn, Don and Edward and 3 sisters, Violet Olson (Henry), Beulah Pederson (Harry), and Dorothy Bruhn. He is survived by his loving wife of 73 years, Phyllis; his sons Terry (Kathryn), Ron (Jeanette), Rick (Vickey), Tim (Karen) and his daughters Diane Presley, Patricia Clark, Pamela Currier, Doreen Jilek (Patrick)and Janelle LaFlamme (Nick); his sister, Eileen Schaff, Seely Lake, MT; his sisters-in-law, Linda Bruhn (Portland, OR), and Laura Bruhn, (Portland, OR); 30 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great grandchildren, plus numerous nieces and nephews. He was cherished by us all and he will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who knew him. Services for Lloyd will be held at the Valley Hills Funeral Home in Sunnyside, WA, viewing from 5:00-7:00pm on Wednesday, September 20, followed by services at 11:00 am on Thursday, September 21.
