Letitia (Tish) Alvarez Oct. 13, 1917 - Feb. 1, 2018 Letitia Ann (Morton) Alvarez, 100 years old, went to be with the Lord on Feb. 1st, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Naches, the second child of Lelah (Johnson) Morton and Fred Morton Sr. on Oct. 13, 1917. Her family later moved to Yakima where she became a life long resident. She attended Yakima Public schools. While a young girl she loved to dance both tap and ballet. She married her high school sweetheart Bernard Alvarez on August 12, 1939. They danced their way through life together for 62 years. She and Bernie were members of the Yakima Elks golf club. They were snowbirds during the winter months traveling to California. They played many golf courses there and around the Pacific Northwest. They had many special golfing buddies. Tish was a life long member of The First Presbyterian Church. She always saw the beauty around her and said Yakima was God's country. She worked at a jewelry store and made gun scope covers. She and Bernie were proud to adopt two children, Nick in 1946, and Andrea in 1949. She treasured spending time in her home with her children, grandchildren, family members, friends and neighbors. She especially enjoyed making people smile, crocheting afghans, planting flowers, short walks, beaches, travel and playing golf. She was preceded in death by her parents Lelah and Fred Morton Sr., her stepmother Lillian Morton, her brother Fred Morton Jr., her husband Bernard Alvarez and her son Nick Alvarez. She is survived by her daughter Andrea (Bruce) Quackenbush of Moses Lake, daughter in law Carrol Alvarez of Auburn, grandchildren Tami (Jeremy) Hellewell of Moses Lake, Shawna (Brent) Finch of Bozeman, David (Keiko) Alvarez of Spain, Kristen (Robert) Goheen of London. She is also survived by her loving cousin Norm Johnson of Yakima, two nephews, 9 great grandchildren, and one great, great grandchild. Mom memories of you and your sweet spirit will be carried in our hearts forever. At Tish's request there will be no funeral service.
