Leonard Martian (Len) entered the Church Triumphant on Thursday, March 23, 2023. Len was born in Belfield, North Dakota on July 29, 1931, to Otillie and Ignatius “Knute” Martian.
Len lived in the Yakima/Selah area since 1945 and attended the Peace Lutheran Church in Selah. Len was a prominent barber in downtown Yakima for over 50 years. Len’s Barbershop became iconic in the downtown area. Len loved his family and was proud of them. He spent many hours at family gatherings be it in their homes or at Ocean Shores.
Len was the patriarch of the family and will be remembered for his commitment to his family, dedication to his profession as a barber, and devotion to his faith. He served in the army during the Korean War, from 1952-1954.
He is survived by his daughter Rhonda (Jesse) Ozuna of Terrace Heights, his son Dan Martian of New Jersey, grandchildren Shane (Cathy) Ozuna of California, Jared Ozuna of Selah, and great-grandchildren Eric, Cecilia, and Kyrus as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Proceeding him in death was his beloved wife of 65 years Marie, his parents Otillie and Knute; siblings Ann, Agnes, Francis, Eva, Adam, Freddie, infant sisters Rose and Eva, and a brother born silent.
