Leonard Edward Collins was born May 15, 1951 in Yakima, WA to Ted and Helen (Heinrich) Collins the first of three children. On Saturday December 21, he entered the kingdom of his Savior Jesus Christ.
He was raised in Granger, WA. and attended grade school and Junior High there then transferred to Toppenish High School where he graduated in 1970. After graduation he attended YVC and earned an Associates Degree then moved on to JM Perry and received a certificate in HVAC and refrigeration.
He was a past Master Counselor of Toppenish DeMolay and a Mason. One of his proudest accomplishment was getting his Ham radio license. In his younger years he enjoyed his DJ business Sound Show and was the Ranch Manager of the family farm of nearly 200 acres that included apples and asparagus and assisted at Ted’s Auto Parts. Leonard had a very deep faith in God and was known to sometimes go to up to five services a week at different churches. Leonard was one of the kindest people you would ever know and he never met a stranger.
He is survived by his Father Ted Collins of Zillah, His Sister Suzette Attebery of Yakima, His brother, caregiver and best friend John Collins of Zillah and 2 grown daughters. He was proceeded in death by his mother Helen Collins.
A viewing will be held at Valley Hills Mortuary in Zillah on Friday Jan 3, 2020 from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM and a memorial service on Saturday Jan 4. 2020 at 11:00 AM at the Toppenish Four Square Church 606 Washington Ave. In lieu of flowers, Donations in Memoriam to your local Salvation Army.
