Leon Toop

Leon Matthew Toop 54, passed away on June 7th at Cottage in the Meadow in Yakima WA. Leon was born to Ernie and Marlyce (Rowland) Toop on January 24, 1969 at Fort Lewis WA. Leon's father was in the United States Air Force so the family was constantly moving place to place. Leon's education began at Travis Airforce Base, CA. The family moved to Geiger Heights, near Spokane WA, then 3 years in Fulda Germany. In 1981 the family moved to Lakewood WA where he finished his education from Lakes High School class of 1987. After high school, he did an apprenticeship at the Navy ship yard in Bremerton becoming a painter, a trade he did most of his life. He married Lynnette (Parker) Toop, on November 25, 2007. Together, they had two children. Leon is preceded in death by his grandparents Matthew and Madge Rowland, Helmuth and Gloria Toop, Uncle Ken Rowland, and his mother Marlyce Toop. Survived by his wife Lynnette, daughters Chelsie Lynn Bopp granddaughter Elena Louise Gutierrez of Finley, CA and Kaylee Jean Toop and his father Ernie Toop of Zillah and his brother Kevin Toop of Tacoma, uncles Leonard Toop of Palmer Alaska, and Gary and Julie Toop of Pocatello Idaho. As well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends A Celebration of Life will be held at Valley Hills Funeral Home Zillah June 23rd at 12pm.
