Born August 7, 1942 in Camas, WA to Gordon and Louella Skinner, LeeRoy was raised in Toppenish and graduated from Toppenish High School in 1961. After graduation LeeRoy worked on the family farm. In 1971 he married the love of his life Sharon Shearer. Together they remained in Toppenish where they raised their two daughters and LeeRoy was co-owner of Lewis & Skinner Farms until 1989. He then worked at the Farm Shop in Sunnyside and T & K Farms of Granger until retirement.
LeeRoy enjoyed spending time with his family and grandkids. LeeRoy never met a stranger. He loved to visit with people and talk about the thing he new best, farming. In his later years he enjoyed planting a large garden, his 1955 Chevy pickup, model trains, and eating. He had a sweet tooth!
After a long battle with Parkinson’s disease LeeRoy died on November 25, 2014 surrounded by his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Gordon Skinner and Louella Huberdeau and many aunts and uncles.
He is survived by his wife Sharon Skinner of Zillah; Daughters Melissa (Ray) Ellison of West Richland, Kristie (Steve) De La Rosa of Zillah; Grandkids Emily, Nathan, Cassandra, Eric, and Alyssa; Great Grandkids Corina and Eduardo; Sister Virginia Schierer of Lakewood, CA.

A celebration of life will be held at the Toppenish Grace Brethren Church at 11am Friday, November 28, 2014. Valley Hills Funeral Home in Zillah is in care of the arrangements. Online tributes for LeeRoy can be shared at www.valleyhillsfh.com.
