LaVon Jean LaRue, 83, of Yakima passed away on August 9, 2013 surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on September 20, 1929 in Loveland, CO.
LaVon’s passion was first and foremost for her family. She loved tending her flower garden, camping, and snowmobiling. She also loved her Lord, Jesus Christ.
LaVon is survived by her husband, Theron LaRue of Yakima; sister, Patricia (Dub) Adcock of Texarkana; son, Gary (Gloria) LaRue of Kent, WA; daughters, Linda (Alan) Gott, Sheryl (Ivan) Guthrie, Carol (Sam) Ramirez, Dawn Rodrigues, and Gale (David) Avila, all of Yakima; grandchildren, Michelle (James) Seligman, Debbie (Chris) Crist, Angel (J. Mark) Keller, Terry (Jessica) Gott, Shannon (Rob Olmeda) Guthrie, Melissa (Ben) Sixberry, Jeremy (Patricia) Ramirez, Shawn (Chris) Rodrigues, Brent Rodrigues, Serena (Matt) Plant, Anthony Avila, Jennifer Avila, and David (Sundee) Avila; and 30 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Elda and Theodore Bentz.

Visitation will be offered from 3:00 - 7:00 p.m. today, Wednesday, August 14 at Valley Hills Funeral Home in Yakima. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 9:00 a.m. at the West Valley Church of the Nazarene with burial to follow at Terrace Heights Memorial Park.
