Larry Wittgow

July 12, 1952 — March 12, 2024

Larry Wittgow, of Selah, WA, passed away on March 12, 2024, at his home in his sleep. He was an incredible husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother, and friend. He will be missed dearly. Larry was born July 12, 1952, to Warren and Lucille (Lehman) Wittgow in Lewistown, Montana. His fondest memories of growing up were riding motorcycles, exploring, and spending time with his best friend, Ekim, at his cabin in Maiden Canyon, near Lewistown. After high school, Larry moved to Renton, WA to escape small town life. He quickly met the love of his life, Karen (Durrin) Wittgow. They were married on May 24, 1975, and were blessed with three children. They settled in Selah in 1977 where they raised their three children spending summer weekends camping at “the Meadow” in Little Naches. Motorcycles were always a huge part of Larry’s life, and he passed that love onto his children and grandchildren. Some of our fondest memories are camping with Dad riding bikes. Larry was a welder and proud member of the Operating Engineers. He spent most of his career at Graham & Morris in Toppenish. The last couple of years before his retirement in 2008, he chose to work at Icon Materials in Auburn, WA with his son, Brett. He also couldn’t resist occasionally coming out of retirement to work with Brett for 10 more years. Larry was so proud to work side by side with his son doing what he loved. Larry and Karen decided to spend their retirement camping, riding motorcycles and side by sides and spending time with their grandchildren and that is exactly what they did. They spent winters in Arizona riding in the desert around Lake Havasu, Parker and Yuma, spending time at the beach and taking long rides wherever they could. Larry is preceded in death by his parents, Warren and Lucille Wittgow and his brothers Percy Wittgow and Darrel Wittgow. Larry is survived by his loving wife, Karen, children Brandy (Lee) Frasier, Stacy Sands and Brett (Erica) Wittgow along with 9 grandchildren: Trenten, Dylan, Kylie, Kinzie, Kayla, Kaitlyn, Sienna, Cooper, and Greyson; his sisters, Charlotte Wilmerton, Darlene (Ernie) Kolar, in-laws Greg (Teri) Durrin, George (Debbie) Durrin and so many wonderful nieces and nephews.            We love you so much, Dad, and we can’t wait to see you again.
