YAKIMA - Larry H. Wilson, 66, of Yakima passed away on May 31, 2013 at Cottage in the Meadow. He was born to Harvey and Lillian (Amos) Wilson on January 15, 1947 in Yakima.
Most of Larry’s life was spent as a long-haul trucker, passing through every U.S. state on the main land, which is something he was very proud of. He loved anything mechanical, including his cars, trucks, motorcycles, speedboats, and, of course, his remote control toys. He was the “built-in GPS” for traveling - he could tell you what roads were the best to get you where you wanted to go.
Family was a very important part of his life. His nieces and nephews were very special to him. He enjoyed spending time camping with family and friends and being by, or on, the water.
Larry is survived by his mother, Lillian of Yakima; sisters, Judy (Jerry) Porter and Linda Harris, both of Yakima and Joyce (Rodney) Anderson of Lisbon,North Dakota; brother, Dan Wilson of Colorado; numerous nieces and nephews and one great-niece. Larry was preceded in death by his father, Harvey and his brother in-law, Ken Harris.
Memorial services will be held on Thursday, June 6, 2013 at 4:00 p.m. at Valley Hills Funeral Home in Yakima. A Celebration of Life will take place following the service at the home of Linda Harris. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Larry’s name to the Cottage in the Meadow in Yakima.
