Larry Gail Stewart of Zillah passed away on the morning of January 4, 2020. Larry grew up in Blockton, Iowa, the son of Alfred and Amy Stewart. He moved to Wapato in 1963 with his brother Doc and sister-in-law Ellen. He worked various jobs before starting with King’s Plumbing and later starting his own business, S & S Plumbing. Later he began work as the Assistant Public Works Director for the City of Zillah. In 1993 he again went on his own plumbing with his son Clint, which he worked until he retired.
Larry was a proud Army Veteran of Vietnam. He was a 32 year member of the American Legion. He was currently serving as Commander of Zillah Post 130. He was also active in other community projects, which include coordinating the Zillah Community Day Parade, the establishment of Stewart Park, and the Veteran’s War Memorial. Our Dad loved and taught us how to hunt, fish, plumb, build, wrench and have a good time.
Larry is survived by his three sons, Chris Stewart, Ray (Jen) Stewart, Clint (Kristy) Stewart, and their mother, Ret Stewart all of Zillah, brother Dick Stewart of Creston, Iowa, eight grandchildren Mike, Adison (Ty), Tiffany (Zack), Hannah, Chandler, Kade, Emma, Catherine, and one great grandchild Harper.
You will be greatly missed Dad, but never forgotten.
