Laroy Vestal

LaRoy Vestal age 73,passed away with beloved family by his side at Yakima Regional Medical and Cardiac Center in Yakima, Washington on June 11, 2017. He was born at home on November 8, 1943 in Oak Grove, Louisiana to James and Edith(Reynolds) Vestal. He was blessed with 6 siblings, Aubra (Bud) Vestal, Joan (John) Wilkey, Gary (Linda) Vestal, Gail (Will) LeMaster, Rachel (Steve) Stahr, and Mona (Mike) Isley. In 2003 much to everyone's surprise 3 children from his father's previous marriage that no one knew existed, contacted him at the family farm in Wapato, Washington. He became very close to his newfound family, Thomas Vestal, Bonnie Todd, and Lulu Mae (Polly)Scott, all of Tennessee. He lived most of his life in California and Washington. He served a short term in the army stationed in Hawaii before meeting and marrying Arleen Rorie of Yuba City, California. Even though they divorced years later, together they had 3 sons, James (Jimmy) Brian and Bradley Vestal. Brian has 2 sons, Ben and Brian, Bradley (Pamela) has 3 children, Alexandria, Ethan and Grace. LaRoy had several occupations throughout his life including farming, heating and cooling maintenance, mechanic and was a jack of all trades that could fix just about anything. He loved getting together with family and friends, playing guitar and singing. He also loved fishing, gardening and animals, especially dogs. He was close to his many nieces and nephews and treated them as he would his own. He had a sense of humor and a quirky smile clear up his last hours before going home again to be with those that had past before him. I'm sure his mother and father, son Jimmy, granddaughter Brianna, brothers Thomas and Bud, nephew Larry, and nieces daughter Tommi Sue were all there to greet him. He was loved so very much by his family and friends for his joking, lighthearted manner and his fun loving spirit. LaRoy, you will be missed. A special note of gratitude to Grace Garcia (Brian Vestal) and Julie (Rick) Barber, his cousin, for their love and support.
