Kimberly Ann (Carl) Mattingley went to be with the Lord on January 10, 2019, surrounded by her family. She was born on July 18, 1963, to Willard and Ruth Carl in Yakima, WA. She grew up in Grandview and graduated from Grandview High School as a Mighty Greyhound in 1981.
She married Bob Mattingley in 1982 and together raised their only child Tiffanie Mattingley (Waldman) in Zillah, WA.
Kim was employed by Sunnyside Community Hospital and most recently at an assisted living facility in Yakima. She enjoyed family get togethers and never missed a grandchild’s basketball game. Seaside beach was one of her favorite places.
In 2010 Kim decided to quit her assisted living position to become a stay at home grandma and watch her last grandchild each day; she loved spending her time with each of them. She also enjoyed gardening, cooking and watching old television shows. Taking the grandkids to feed the ducks at Randle Park always brought her joy. Kim and Mike would take day trips to go fishing and enjoy the scenery.
She is survived by her parents, Willard and Ruth Carl of Yakima, WA; sisters, Tina (Bob) White of Yakima, WA and Sandie Mortensen of Zillah, WA; husband Mike Morgan of Yakima, WA; daughter, Tiffanie (Shawn) Waldman; grandkids, Teegan (17), Ashton (15), and BraeLynn (8) Waldman of Zillah, WA.
Although you were taken from us too soon, you are now in the loving arms of our Father and no longer in pain.
Kim’s celebration of life will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church in Yakima on Friday January 18 at 10:30 a.m., with a reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude’s hospital.
The family would like to thank all nursing staff and volunteers for their care at Cottage in the Meadow.
