It is with a heavy heart and great sadness that we announce the passing of Kevyn G Miller Sr on March 4, 2016. Kevyn was born on July 30, 1965 in Yakima, WA to Donald and Ella Miller. He attended school in Toppenish and at an early age went to work with his Dad and elder brother in the plastering business. He was a perfectionist and performed every task with the utmost of precision. He took pride in his work. Kevyn’s Father passed away when he was 18, but he continued on in the plastering business and formed a company with his brother Donald. Retirement from the family business came at an early age due to various injuries limiting his work capabilities. He began a new career at Intermountain West Insulation and was a valued employee.
Kevyn was an avid outdoorsman. He greatly enjoyed snowmobiling, boating and fishing. He also found enjoyment target practicing with his new crossbow. He went on numerous fishing trips with his good friend Mark Cook. We could always count on dad to fix anything that needed repairing, from the smallest of things to as big as rebuilding an engine. He had also been gifted the ability to cook gourmet meals from his Mother. His specialty was biscuits and gravy. You would also never find Kevyn without his vanilla breve with an extra shot of coffee every morning and his chocolate every evening. He had a sweet tooth and was always very generous with his sweets.
In 1988 Kevyn married Tina Goben and they had his two youngest children, Kevyn Jr, and Tiffany Miller. He is also survived by his two oldest children, Andrew Miller, Karissa (Raul) Lopez, and; Grandchildren Malaki and Avah Lopez; Luke, Sabrina, Isabella, and Preston; Siblings Debbie Cook, Cindy Stout, Donald Miller Jr. His special friends Matt and Tommy. He also survived by several nieces and nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents Donald Sr and Ella Miller.
A graveside service is planned on March 19th at 2pm at Zillah Cemetery. There will be a celebration of life announced at a later date.
All his family and friends will sincerely Miss Kevyn. He was taken too soon from this existence but now joins his parents in heaven.
I’m Free
Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free,
I'm following the path God laid for me.
I took his hand when I heard his call,
I turned my back and left it all.
I could not stay another day,
To laugh, to love, to work, to play.
Tasks left undone must stay that way,
I've found that peace at the close of the day.
If my parting has left a void,
Then fill it with remembered joy.
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss,
Ah yes, these things I too will miss.
Be not burdened with times of sorrow,
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.
My Life's been full, I savored much,
Good friends, good times, a loved one's touch,
Perhaps my time seemed all too brief,
Don't lengthen it now with undue grief.
Lift up your heart and share with me,
God wanted me now, He set me free.
