Kenneth Young

Kenneth Wayne Young, of Ellensburg, WA, passed away Sept. 22, 2015 at Harborview Hospital, Seattle, Washington. Ken was born Sept. 21, 1942 in Yakima, Washington at the County Hospital. He was born to Mary and Dell Young. Ken graduated from Eisenhower High School in 1961. Ken served in the Marines and was deployed to Viet Nam in 1966. After returning from Viet Nam he joined the Washington State Patrol in 1968 and retired as a trooper in 1995. Ken went to work for the WSP as a vehicle inspector in Yakima and then as a CEVO at the Cle Elum Scales in 1995 to 2009. Ken and Pat Beddoe were married on December 14, 1968 in Wapato. Ken is survived by his wife Pat, daughter Lisa Fordyce (Steve), grandson Zach Fordyce, granddaughter Brittany Heise (Chad), sister-in-law Joyce Young, sister Delores Thaxton (Curtis), and several nieces and nephews. Ken loved his pets Casey and Ginger. Ken was preceded in death by his parents and brother Steve Young. Ken attended the Ellensburg Presbyterian Church. Private family inurnment will be at Terrace Heights Memorial Park. Arrangements are by the Valley Hills Funeral Home. Celebration of life will be at a later date.
