Kenneth J. “Kenny” Atkins passed away peacefully on May 25, 2023 in Wapato, Washington. Kenny was born on December 3, 1940 in Seattle, Washington. He lived in Nespelem in his younger years, graduating from Coulee Dam High School in 1959. Kenny moved to the Yakima Valley where he lived until his passing. Kenny was married to Jo Ann Agapith, and they had seven children – Gary Agapith, Victoria Atkins, Darla Atkins, Kenneth “Jack” Atkins, Sheila Renee Atkins, Felicia Atkins, and Danielle Atkins. Kenny was an avid sports fan with his favorite teams being the Seattle Seahawks, the Seattle Mariners, and especially the Gonzaga Bulldogs. Kenny was a survivor – he successfully recovered from throat cancer, and prostrate cancer. Kenny was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Lorraine Atkins; his wife Jo Ann; his brothers Richard Atkins and Tony Atkins; his sisters Nadine Atkins and Gloria Atkins; his daughters Darla Atkins and Sheila Renee Atkins; and his son Kenneth “Jack” Atkins. Kenny is survived by his children – Gary, Vickie, Felicia and Danielle; he is also survived by his sisters Patricia Atkins and Bonita Herman, and his brother Reggie Atkins. He is also survived by a special friend Patsy Randall. Kenny is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Dressing will be Friday, May 26th at 10:00 AM at Valley Hills Funeral Home in Wapato, Washington. He will be brought to the Independent Shaker Church in White Swan, Washington. Overnight Services will be at 7:00 PM. Burial will be at the Simpson Cemetery in White Swan.
