In loving memory of Katherine (Kay) Stout.
Katherine Stout, 96, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of September 28, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of love, laughter, and memories that her family will cherish for generations to come.
Born on September 23, 1930 she shared 60 wonderful years of marriage with her beloved husband Edward. She was no stranger to hard work and took pride in helping on the family farm in Granger. The family later moved to Yakima, where she made a loving home for Ed and their seven children. She loved dancing and parties surrounded by family and friends. A proud Irish Catholic with a strong personality and even stronger spirit, she was unforgettable to everyone who met her. She loved being the first to know the latest news and kept her family on their toes with her funny stories and infectious laughter.
She had a special place in her heart for animals, often rescuing cats and giving them a safe and loving home. Her compassion for animals is a reflection of the big heart she carried throughout her life. She had a wonderful zest for life and found joy in the simple things, especially yard sales, where she was always on the hunt for a good bargain or hidden treasure.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Edward Stout, her sister Mickey Pelley, her brother Joseph Urton, her two sons Randy Stout and Alan Stout and her great grand-daughter Kendall Bunger. She is survived by her five children: Patricia (Lyle) Belton, Teresa (Dan) Dallman, Richard (Laura) Stout, Angela (Dan) Larson and Ron (Kim) Stout, 16 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. They will carry her memory forward and continue her legacy of love and family she built.
She will be remembered for her strength, her faith, and most of all the love she gave to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished by her family and all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to everyone at Highgate Retirement Community who cared for her during her final years. The kindness, patience, and love they showed her brought comfort to her and peace of mind to her family. We will always be grateful for the wonderful care and compassion they gave her.
A memorial service will be held on October 12, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Selah.
