Kanani Leilani Heemsah-Littlebull, 25, of Toppenish, passed away on November 28th, 2025, in her home surrounded by family. Kanani, who was also known as Nani, Nano, or Famous, was born on October 28th, 2000, in Yakima Memorial Hospital. Her parents are Tracy Heemsah and Crystal Rae Kahclamat-Heemsah, who both grew up in the Yakima Valley. Kanani was a Hotel Night Auditor at various hotels, and she also worked in the casino, handling roles from childcare to hotel front desk work. She attended Heritage University studying Computer Science. During high school, she played volleyball for 5 years (8th through 12th grade), graduating in June of 2019. Kanani also took part in rodeos, and she danced jingle at powwows. She married Kendrick Yallup-Littlebull on March 25th of 2023.
Those who knew Kanani will remember her for her generous heart and her joyful, adventurous spirit. She loved deeply and lived fully. She enjoyed spending her time with friends and family. Music and travel brought her happiness, and she never hesitated to take a spontaneous trip if it meant creating memories with the people she loved. Among her interests, she loved math and beading, and she played videogames. Kanani was outgoing and energetic, always ready to support her family and be present for them. Her kindness and love touched everyone around her.
Kanani is preceded in death by her grandparents Edith Heemsah and Annie Lou Alexander-Frazier, and Elder Joseph Kahclamat.
Kanani is survived by her husband Kendrick Yallup-Littlebull. She is also survived by her parents Tracy Heemsah and Crystal Kahclamat-Heemsah, and her grandfather Leon Heemsah. Kanani leaves behind her aunts Arlene Ramirez and Margie Heemsah, and Fawn Alexander. She survives by her sisters Randi Totus, Abigail Totus, Kali Jim, and Annie Heemsah, and her brothers Leon Heemsah and Elder Heemsah.

Tuesday: 12/2/25 Burial: Sunrise at 1910 cemetery. Final services: Toppenish Longhouse.
