Julie Karnes

February 13, 1961 — November 26, 2014

Julie Marie Karnes, 53 of Yakima, went to heaven on November 26, 2014. Julie was born in Yakima, on February 13, 1961. Julie graduated from Eisenhower High School in 1979. Julie worked at St. Paul’s School for 34 years. Julie is in heaven now and looking down on her family and the thousands of children she cared so much for through the years. Julie focused on the little things in life; those little things in her life were all the children she so dearly loved at the St. Paul’s school. She was a silent warrior, never ever complaining about her pain, and always willing to share a smile and a hug to those around her. We miss you Julie, we will carry your love in our hearts forever. She is survived by her husband Ben, and son Christopher, mother Dorothy Hill, father Don (wife Marlene), father in law George Karnes (wife Stephanie), mother in law Rosie Karnes, brother Stewart Hill (wife Georgette), and sister Laura Day (husband Joe), nieces and nephews Leah (husband Andrew), Ryan, Drew (wife Hanna), cousin Glenn (wife Audrey), aunt Patti Ausink, sister in law Kim Karnes, niece Holly, and nephew Ray. She is also survived by a very, very special group of friends who made this last week one of laughter, tears, and many heart-warming stories that described the true impact Julie had on everyone’s lives: Marilynn, Denise, Linda, Bonnie, Julie. Julie was preceded in death by her grandma Chris, grandfather Albert Matsch, grandparents Donald and Fern Hill. A special thank you to Linda Menard and Judy Davis, you were invaluable. Her co-workers at the St. Paul Cathedral School were a very special part of Julie’s life, thank you all for the friendships. The family would like to extend a warm thank you to the many wonderful visitors who came to visit, stayed and sat with Julie every day.
