Judy Jones went home to the loving arms of her Lord and Savior on October 7, 2015 after a brief illness. Judy was born on July 30, 1941 in Yakima the second daughter to William and Hazel Rousseau. Judy attended St. Joseph High School and retired as a Bakery Retail Specialist for Safeway after 26.5 years of service. Judy’s loves of her life were Jesus and her 3 children. Judy instilled many values into her children that have been passed on to her grandchildren. Judy’s second family was the Eastside Church of Christ where she was an active, long time member. She was a loving, caring, and hard working woman whose hobbies were gardening, traveling and reading. She loved working with her flowers and took great pride in her yard. Even the hummingbirds loved her yard and brought her great joy. Her travels included several trips to Arkansas to visit family. She was an avid reader who enjoyed Christian fiction and mysteries.
Judy is survived by her children Debbie Pottenger, Dale (Lisa Ruff) Pottenger, and Denise (Chuck) Jackson; sisters Faye (John) Picard, and Peggy (Jerry) Everett; grandchildren Aaron Lancaster, Derrick Lancaster, Brandon (Nicole) Cort, Brent Cort, and Brittney Cort; great grandchildren Zak, Issaiah, Aydin and Harmony; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents William and Hazel Rousseau.
Viewing will be at Valley Hills Funeral Home Sunday from 3-7 pm and Monday from 10-noon. Graveside service will be Monday at 2:00 pm at Calvary Cemetery.
