Judith Nicks

Judith A Nicks, 80, of Yakima, peacefully passed away to be with her Valentine on February 14, 2015, as her family was by her side. She was born on June 16, 1934 to Clinton and Blanche Miller, in Tacoma, WA. She grew up in Fircrest, WA, where she enjoyed the trees and always felt at home. Her family moved to Toppenish when she was a child. She married Frank Jr Covelli and enjoyed the life of a farmer’s wife. They had three children, Frank, Sharon, and Richard. She worked at the Toppenish Hospital, and later married Richard “Dick” Nicks. Dick’s career took him to various parts of the state, and Judy enjoyed traveling along. Judy’s number one passion was her children. She loved and treasured her family dearly. She also enjoyed golfing, her bowling league, music, movies, and her casino trips. Judy also enjoyed dancing with Dick. Her pets, especially her Dachshunds, were her special companions. Judy also enjoyed attending her class reunions, as well as being with her friends, who she referred to as her Lunch Bunch. Judy is survived by her children, Frank K (Pam) Covelli, Sharon B (Gordon) Evans, Richard P (Laura) Covelli. She is also survived by her step children, Richard (Yuko) Nicks Jr., Linda (Bruce) Kinney, James (Vickie) Nicks, as well as numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her siblings Steven Miller and Shelley Farrell are also surviving. She is preceded in death by her husband, Richard Nicks, and her brother, William Miller, and stepdaughter, Patricia Nicks. At her request, no formal services are planned. A private family inurnment will be held at a later date at the Zillah Cemetery, where she will rest with her husband, Richard Nicks.
