YAKIMA - Juanita B Wickstrom, born on October 2, 1934, went home to her Lord in Heaven on August 10, 2013 at 1:47 AM. She was surrounded by her family at Memorial’s Cottage in the Meadow. She is survived by her husband Keith Wickstrom, her daughter Tammy Thornton, her three sons Darin, Robert, and Steve. She also has eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
In her younger years, Juanita climbed Mt. Rainier twice and Mt. Adams four times. She also spent many hours of her life volunteering and was actively involved in Chinook Pass Lions Club, Red Hatters, the Nile Valley Women’s Club, and many more. She devoted her life to helping others and her community.
Juanita had a love for flowers and even greater love for family and friends. She was an avid animal lover and enjoyed riding horses when she was younger and sitting on her back porch with her dog, Marley. She enjoyed life to the fullest and never once lost her sense of humor or missed an opportunity to laugh or make a joke even on her last day with us. Juanita was an extremely hard worker and loved her job as mortgage broker. She was preceded in death by her parents Glen and Gladys Maultsby, her stepson Ladd Wickstrom, and her grandson Caleb Wickstrom.
There will be a service at the Nile Valley Church on Thursday, August 15, 2013 at 5:00 PM. In honor of Juanita’s memory, donations to North Star Lodge and/or Cottage in the Meadow would be greatly appreciated.
