Beloved son, brother, father, uncle, and grandfather, Juan Geraldo “Gero” Garcia, age 49, of Selah, Washington, passed away on January 3, 2026, as a result of an automobile accident. He was born on November 20, 1976, in Yakima, Washington, to Rebecca Perez and Robert Garcia, Jr.
Gero accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior, and his heart was devoted to God. His passion for Christian music, his love of cooking, and his appreciation for cars were only surpassed by his devotion to sharing the Gospel. Christian music was both his comfort and his voice, but his greatest calling was proclaiming God’s Word.
Playful and full of life, Gero was always joking, laughing, and building connections—whether in person or through social media—reminding everyone of God’s grace. If you gave him even five minutes, he would gladly use that time to share his faith and encourage others.
His heart was as big as his beautiful smile, and his spirit radiated warmth and kindness. His contagious laughter lifted hearts and brought people together. Though his time with us was far too short, the impact he made will last a lifetime. We will forever remember the light he shared, the joy he brought, and the love he gave without measure.
Gero will remain in our hearts forever.
Gero is survived by his parents, Rebecca and Fabian Perez of Selah, WA, and Robert and Teresa (Gina) Garcia of Zillah, WA; his siblings, Maria Leticia (Garcia) Romero of San Diego, CA, Robert Anthony Garcia of Zillah, WA, David Garcia (Cruz Maria) of Kennewick, WA, Krystal Ramos (Al) of Zillah, WA, and Gina Siller Garcia of Union Gap, WA; his children, Nathaniel Solis (Jaimey Reid) of Lyle, WA, Aaliyah Perez (JJ) of Woodland, CA, Christopher Solis of The Dalles, OR, James Ellison of Niceville, FL, and Nikko Garcia of Seattle, WA; and his cherished grandchildren, Ashur, Luca, Azara Solis, and Kebbie Reid of Lyle, WA, and Priscilla and Ella Perez of Woodland, CA. He is also survived by his niece, Nicole Romero of San Diego, CA; his nephews, Evan Garcia of Kennewick, WA, and Abraham and Cortez Ramos of Zillah, WA; his beloved cat, Lexi, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Elena and Roberto P. Garcia and Carmel and Juan Garza, and his nephew, David Alexander Garcia, Jr., and brother-in-law, Anthony (Tony) Romero. A memorial service to celebrate Gero’s life will be held on Friday, January 23, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Christian Worship Center, 204 Cheyne Road, Zillah, Washington.
