Joyce Reeves

January 6, 1930 — July 9, 2016

Joyce Dale‐Reeves (née Trepanier) was born in 1930 to Louie and Clara Trepanier in Baker, Oregon. Her earliest years were spent primarily in Toppenish in the care of her maternal grandparents, Joseph and Mary LeRoue. As a youngster, you would often find Mom singing and dancing outside of the family hotel raising money to buy her treasured sweets at the nearby bakery. Mom had a talent for dancing and a wonderful singing voice, inherited from her mother Clara. As an only child she also spent a lot of her time at the theater watching movies. She briefly lived in Kanasas with her mother and step‐dad, but ultimately moved back to Toppenish, attending Toppenish High School, were she met and married our father Wendell Dale. Mom and Dad lived in Richland, were he was employed at Hanford. After some time, they returned home to Toppenish, where they raised their six children. Mom was very supportive of us in our many school activities, always encouraging us to get good grades. She enjoyed baking, crocheting and in later years, loved playing cards and fishing at the Klickitat River. She was a dedicated stay at home mom for many years, as well as later working at Del Monte. At the age of 62, she went to work at the Eagle High School nursery, caring for toddlers while their young mothers attended classes. She loved being with the kids and they adored her. Mom is survived by her children; Janice Burch, Wendell “Bucky” Dale, Judy Wagenman, Jeri Dale, Patty Burns, and David Dale, as well as seventeen grandchildren and thirteen great‐grandchildren. Mom believed in the Bible’s promise of a resurrection upon a cleansed earth. As her family, we are confident that she is in Jehovah God’s memory. We’d like to extend a special thank you to Sunnyside Home Health for providing Mom with excellent caregivers that made it possible for her to spend her last days at home. To the staff of Heartlinks Hospice, we are especially grateful to the care given to Mom in her final months. Ruth England, one of Mom’s dearest friends, has always been right there to help and assist. Thank you, Ruthie! At Mom’s request there will be no funeral services. The family requests that any donations in Joyce Reeves name be made to Heartlinks Hospice, 3920 Outlook Road, Sunnyside, WA 98944.
