Joyce Allen

Joyce J. Allen, 79, passed away peacefully in her home with her loved ones present on May 5, 2018. Joyce was born in Poplar Bluff, MO on December 3, 1938 to Albert and Ethel Lorton. She married her soulmate of 50 years Robert S. Allen on December 15, 1967 and together they raised 6 children. Her happiest moments were the times she spent with her family, and having large get togethers with everyone. Up until her illness, Joyce loved to watch her children and grandchildren play sports and attended as many of their events as she could. She enjoyed taking care of her grandchildren, nieces and nephews throughout the years. She is survived by her loving husband Robert S. Allen Sr. of Yakima, WA; sons Leonard (Corky) Kinter of Yakima, WA, and Robert (Robbie) S. Allen Jr. of Yakima, WA; daughters, Linda Calvert of Selah, WA, and Teri Allen of Yakima, WA; brother, Wilbert Lorton of Tacoma, WA; sisters Delcia Fadness of Toppenish, WA and Mary Bemis of Selah, WA; her 16 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Joyce was preceded in death by her daughters, Tracey Kinter Borgalia of Yakima, WA and Shelly Kinter of Yakima, WA; her brothers Donald Lorton of Zillah, WA, Wayne Lorton of Toppenish, WA and Charley Lorton of Tacoma, WA and her sister Ozella Reeves of Kennewick, WA. The family would like to give a special thank you to Compass Care Hospice who helped make her final days comfortable and peaceful. In addition, a special thank you to Chaplain Luis, social worker Renee and her nurse Sarah – who not only made her comfortable, but gave comfort and strength to the family. A private family graveside will be held at the Zillah Cemetery, Zillah, WA on Thursday May 10, 2018.
