In Loving Memory of Josefina “Josie” Cruz

April 9, 1988 – October 1, 2026

It is with deep sorrow and loving hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Josefina “Josie” Cruz, who went home to be with the Lord on October 1, 2026, at the age of 38.

Josie was a devoted mother, daughter, sister, nurse, soldier, and friend whose love, strength, courage, and beautiful spirit touched the lives of so many.

Above all else, Josie’s greatest joy was being a mother to her two boys, Kevin Ahmann and Zion Crim. They were the center of her world. She loved spending time with them and would do anything and everything for her boys. Her love for them was unconditional, fierce, and evident in everything she did.

Josie also had a love for shopping and enjoyed working out and staying active. She had a personality and presence that will never be forgotten by those who knew and loved her.

Josie dedicated much of her life to caring for others through her career as a Registered Nurse. She worked at Astria Sunnyside Hospital and also served as a traveling nurse. Nursing was more than a profession; it was another reflection of Josie’s caring heart and her willingness to help others when they needed it most.

Josie also proudly served her country as a member of the Washington National Guard. During her military service, she was deployed twice to Iraq, demonstrating incredible courage, strength, dedication, and sacrifice. Her service to her country was an important part of her life and is something her family will always honor with tremendous pride.

Josie leaves behind her beloved sons, Kevin Ahmann and Zion Crim; her father, Robert Cruz; her sisters, Isabel Cisneros, Melissa (Miguel) Rivera, and Maricela (Randall) Fuller; her brother, Robert (Sonia) Cruz; along with many other family members, friends, coworkers, fellow service members, and loved ones who will carry her memory in their hearts forever.

She was preceded in death by her loving mother, Mary F. Cruz; her brother, Jose Gonzalo Cisneros; and her grandmother, Josefina Flores.

Although our hearts are broken and her absence leaves a space that can never be filled, we are grateful for every memory, every laugh, every conversation, and every moment we were blessed to share with Josie.

Her life was far too short, but the love she gave, the lives she cared for, and the sacrifices she made will continue to live on through her children, her family, and everyone whose life she touched.

We find comfort in the promise of God:

“Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.” — Matthew 5:4

Josie, you were deeply loved, and you will be deeply missed. Your memory will forever remain in our hearts, and the love you gave your family—especially your boys—will never be forgotten.

Forever loved. Forever missed. Forever remembered.

Rest peacefully, Josie, until we meet again.
