Jose Salinas

Jose C. Salinas (Chon) of 97 years of Sunnyside passed away on April 30, 2024 surrounded by his loving family. Jose was born Dec. 8, 1926 in Donna, Texas. Jose meet the love of his life Jennie Garcia and they married July 25, 1962, they had 4 children. Jose is survived by 2 daughters Seleta & Martin Navarro, Viviana Perez and Beto Salud. He is preceded in death by his wife Jennie Salinas, son Matias Salinas, daughter Nancy Salinas. Jose is survived by 7 grandchildren: Orlando, Rudy Navarro, Kiko, Andy, Jennie Lara, Gilbert, Marcos Perez and 9 great grandchildren. Jose worked as agriculture worker in the state of California. In 1963 they moved to Washington state and made there living there in Sunnyside the rest of his life. Jose was employed at Airport Ranch for 30+ years and he retired in 1990 from Airport Ranch. Jose enjoyed going to Safari where he would meet with his friends to shoot pool. He also liked going to Toppenish Casino. He also liked listening to Spanish music, dancing, watching TV, sports, boxing, western movies, Cantinflas movies, and Antonio Aguilar movies. He also liked spending time with his grandchildren's birthday celebrations, bar-b-ques, and providing for his grandchildren. Jose attended St Joseph Catholic Church in Sunnyside, WA. Jose (Chon) will be missed by his family. Dad, Grandpa, Uncle, he will forever be in our hearts.
