John Williams

John Russell Williams, 87, of Yakima, peacefully passed away on March 2nd, 2015. He was born on May 23, 1927, in Emmett, Idaho. After his schooling, he joined the 82nd Airborne Division of the US Army and served his country with pride. After his honorable discharge, he spent his life as a truck driver, throughout the Northwest and beyond. He enjoyed nearly 63 years of marriage with his wife, Lavona. He is survived by his wife, Lavona, and his sister, Betty Schroeder, as well as numerous nieces and nephews and a large and loving extended family. At his request, no formal services are planned, but the family will gather at a later date to enjoy a meal and memories together. Valley Hills Funeral Home is caring for the family.
