John Simpson

John "Jack" Simpson Jr., 98, of Yakima died Thursday at Garden Village. Mr. Simpson was born in Bowhill, Scotland, he and his family moved from Scotland when he was 5 years old to work the coal mines. He served in the U.S. Army and was a Veteran of World War II. He lived in the Cle Elum area for most of his life before moving to Yakima last year. He was a coal miner and then worked in sales for Western Auto for more than 25 years. Survivors include a daughter, Karen Gipe of South Cle Elum; 3 Grandsons, Greg (Ginnette) Andrews of Kelso WA ; Dan (Janette) Andrews of Williamsport PA, and Ryan (Stephanie) Feemster of Cle Elum WA along with 4 Great grand children and many many nieces and nephews. At his request, no services will be held. Arrangements are by Valley Hills Funeral Home and Crematory of Yakima.
