John "Jack" Simpson Jr., 98, of Yakima died Thursday at Garden Village. Mr. Simpson was born in Bowhill, Scotland, he and his family moved from Scotland when he was 5 years old to work the coal mines. He served in the U.S. Army and was a Veteran of World War II. He lived in the Cle Elum area for most of his life before moving to Yakima last year. He was a coal miner and then worked in sales for Western Auto for more than 25 years.
Survivors include a daughter, Karen Gipe of South Cle Elum; 3 Grandsons, Greg (Ginnette) Andrews of Kelso WA ; Dan (Janette) Andrews of Williamsport PA, and Ryan (Stephanie) Feemster of Cle Elum WA along with 4 Great grand children and many many nieces and nephews.
At his request, no services will be held. Arrangements are by Valley Hills Funeral Home and Crematory of Yakima.
